Write your full name exactly as recorded by IGNOU, your enrolment number and any contact information required by your centre.
Looking for the correct IGNOU assignment cover page? Learn what to write on your first page, check the details required by IGNOU, and prepare a clean A4 cover sheet for your course assignment.
Use the free fill-and-print template below, or refer to the official regional-centre format when your study centre asks for a specific cover sheet.
An IGNOU assignment cover page, also called an assignment front page or title sheet, is the identification page attached to a Tutor Marked Assignment (TMA). It tells the study centre and evaluator whose work is being submitted and which programme, course and assignment it belongs to.
IGNOU assignment booklets commonly ask students to mention their name, enrolment number, programme, course code and title, assignment code, study centre, date and signature. Some regional centres request additional information such as mobile number, email address or the term-end examination session. Requirements may differ between programmes and study centres, so the instructions printed in your current assignment question paper should always take priority.
Write your full name exactly as recorded by IGNOU, your enrolment number and any contact information required by your centre.
Enter the correct programme code, course code, course title and assignment code from the applicable question paper.
Include your allocated study centre details, the submission date and your own signature where required.
Fill in your details to preview a clean cover sheet. Select Print / Save as PDF to print it on A4 paper or save it as a PDF using your browser. Your entries remain in your browser; this template does not upload the information to a server.
Add your handwritten signature after printing. If your study centre has issued its own mandatory cover-page format, use that format instead.
A neat cover page is useful only when its information matches your actual university records and the assignment being submitted. Follow these steps before printing or writing the first page.
Check your IGNOU identity card or student record. Use the full enrolment number and avoid confusing it with an application or payment reference number.
Enter the programme code and exact course code. Retain every digit and leading zero in a code; for example, a code ending in “001” must not be shortened to “1”.
Check the course-wise assignment PDF for its assignment number, academic session and validity period. Do not reuse the code from an older session without verification.
Write your allotted study centre name and code. Add regional centre, email or mobile details if the official format provided for your submission requests them.
Add the date and your signature. Keep one separate set for each course, and arrange the sheets in the order specified by your current assignment booklet or study centre instructions.
Before submitting your handwritten assignment, confirm that the first page and the answer sheets are complete and clearly identified.
Avoid writing a wrong course code or enrolment number, using last year's assignment code, leaving required fields blank or combining assignments from different courses under one cover sheet.
Do not assume every IGNOU learner uses the same submission procedure. Some centres provide their own cover form and supporting-document order. Follow the latest instructions for your programme and centre rather than an unrelated online sample.
There is also no need to add a decorative university logo to this independent template. Clear identification details and adherence to the required format matter more than decoration.
Many IGNOU programmes request the same core identifying information, including the learner's enrolment number, programme code, course code, assignment number and study centre. However, that does not mean one universal cover-page design is mandatory for every programme.
Students enrolled in BA, BCom, BSc, MA, MCom, MBA, BCA, MCA, Diploma or Certificate programmes should first read the instructions included with their own course assignment. Where a prescribed title-page layout is printed, reproduce or use that layout. The fillable template above is best used when a general cover sheet is acceptable.
To find the correct assignment question paper, open IGNOU's official assignment download section and search for your exact course code. The university advises students to check the validity of the assignment before downloading it.
Commonly required details include student name, enrolment number, programme code, course code and title, assignment code, study centre, date and signature. Some official formats also ask for address, mobile number, email, regional centre or examination session.
Many learners use printed identification sheets, but you must follow the specific cover-page and assignment-writing instructions supplied by your programme or study centre. The printable template here can be filled and printed on A4 paper where allowed.
Yes, generally each course assignment should be clearly identified and assembled separately. IGNOU Regional Centre Delhi-2 expressly asks learners to use its format separately for each course.
The official formats consulted focus on identification information. Do not assume a logo is mandatory unless your particular official form includes it. The independent template on this page intentionally does not use IGNOU branding.
You can refer to the sample submission cover-page PDF published by IGNOU Regional Centre Delhi-2. If your own regional or study centre provides a different form, use the form it prescribes.
Yes, the identification fields in this template can be used for assignments in either medium, provided your programme or study centre accepts this format. Write the course and other details accurately and follow any language-specific instructions in your assignment booklet.
No. Creating or downloading a front page only prepares a document. Your assignment must still be submitted through the method currently authorised for your programme and allotted centre.
Check your course's applicable assignment booklet and official IGNOU or regional-centre notices. Submission deadlines can differ by programme and session or be revised, so avoid relying on a single universal date.
Use the fillable A4 template, confirm your details against the official assignment instructions, and keep a copy for your records.
